What is schema markup?
Schema (structured data) is a standardized vocabulary that helps search engines understand the meaning of your content—products, articles, FAQs, local businesses, events, and more. Correct markup can unlock rich results (stars, FAQs, breadcrumbs, etc.) and improve visibility.
JSON-LD preferred
Google recommends JSON-LD over Microdata or RDFa for most use cases.
Rich results
Eligible types include Article, Product, FAQ, HowTo, LocalBusiness, Organization, and more.
Validation
Always test with Google’s Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator after deployment.
How to use this tool
- Copy your JSON-LD (from the page source or a generator).
- Paste it into the box and click Validate Schema.
- Fix any reported syntax or structural issues, then re-validate.

Best practices
- Match markup to visible page content—do not mark up hidden or misleading data.
- Use the most specific type available (e.g. SoftwareApplication instead of Product when appropriate).
- Keep required properties complete for the rich-result type you target.
- Monitor Search Console → Enhancements for errors after launch.
Frequently asked questions
Does valid schema guarantee rich results?
No. Validity is required but Google decides eligibility based on guidelines, quality and relevance.
Can I use multiple schema blocks?
Yes. Multiple JSON-LD scripts on one page are fine; keep each focused and accurate.
